Animals - NaPoWriMo, Day 25

We are animals, unevolved.
Perched on opposite viewpoints,
flinging rocks at love's face.

How could we skillfully craft these monuments
only to smash them to rubble?

We looked down on others
for doing the same.
Maybe this is karma.
Maybe we've just changed.

But isn't there a silver thread
above it all
that keeps us connected,
that keeps our bond solid,
that cannot be severed?

And won't it save us this time?
