Come Run With Us — NaPoWriMo Day 18 — a poem about finding your tribe

Come Run With Us — NaPoWriMo Day 18 — a poem about finding your tribe

Come run with us.
The sheltered half
of your life is done.
Overprotectress preoccupied,
oppressors absent.
No armor needed,
no bodyguards,
and not even
forged excuse slips.
Nothing
to slow us
down.
Pages flying
and hangers-on
left in the dust,
you can recreate
what was lost.
Better still, you can build
something greater,
something true.
Be unafraid and open.
Trust that we've got you.
